W1614 Rare Georgian ale flute with round funnel bowl inscribed 'SUCCESS TO THE ROYAL SOVEREIGN 1786'*, on stem cut with hollow diamond facets. Circa 1785.

*HMS Royal Sovereign was launched in 1786 and was a 100-gun first-rate ship-of-the-line. She took part in 'The Glorious First of June' (1794) and later became Admiral Collongwood's flagship under whom she was the first ship in action at the Battle of Trafalgar, on 21st October, 1805, when she led one of the columns of warships, Nelson's Victory leading the other.

Circa 1800.
